FAQ Answers

1.  What do I need to bring? 
 

  • Linen - Sheets, towels, pillowcases, tea towels and bath mats       Or Hire Linen from office.
  • Food & Beverages - Including tea / coffee / milk.
  • No petrol, ATM or alcohol outlets on the mountain- NB: 30kms to nearest service station.
  • Adequate clothing & footwear
  • Torches (recommended due to lack of street lighting)
  • Temperatures are 5 - 7ºC cooler than surrounding plains
  • Toiletries, Toilet Paper, Soaps, Detergents and Garbage bags
  • First Aid Items - Tea tree oil or Pyrethrins, Stingose,
  • Details regarding treatment of ticks is available in your compendium.
  • Firestarters & Matches
  • Other - Camera, CDs, DVDs. Board Games & Cards, Books, Binoculars

Please note:-

  • Whitewood Cottage & Ecos Studio have all linen supplied.   
  • Bunya Mountains Lodge, Eungella, Gods Hill Lodge, West Wing, Studio,  Cutters Rest, Lochanbar all have sheets on the beds – BYO towels & bathmats.  

2.    What bedding is supplied?  

Your house supplies all doonahs & blankets, pillows, crockery, cutlery, stove, frig, microwave etc.   

      3.   Is wood supplied?

Yes wood is supplied but in block form only.  A block spillter is also provided.  You need to split it yourself with the block splitter provided.  You will need matches & firelighters to start your fire.  Alternatively, you may choose to purchase matches and firelighters from theoffice.  If you would like the wood pre-chopped for you, please arrange with the office (07 4668 3126) a few days prior to your arrival - a charge of $25 fpr 2 nights supply will apply.  

4.   What time is check in?   What time is check out? 

Check in is from 2pm.  Check out is 10am.  

5.  Can we have a late check out?

Late check outs can be negotiated with the office (07 4668 3126) .  If the house is available, you can negotiate a 3pm check out priced at ½ the tariff base rate for that property.  

6.  Can we have an early check in?

Early check ins can be negotiated with the office (07 4668 3126).  If the house is available, you may negotiate a 9am check in priced at for ½ the tariff base rate for that property.

7.  Where is your office?

Our office is located opposite “Dandabah Camping Area” and diagonally opposite the general store.  Signposted Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre. Also see the Accommodation Locator map here.

8.  What hours do you open?

We are open 9am to 5pm 7 days a week (except Good Friday, Christmas Day & Boxing Day).  Friday nights we open from 9am to 9pm.

     9. What if we arrive after office hours

Please phone the office (07 4668 3126) to arrange for keys to be left out for you.

10.  Can we bring pets?

No pets are allowed.  If you bring a pet, you will be asked to leave with no refund.

11.  What is the bond? 

The bond is a swipe of your credit card for 1 night's accommodation at the base rate (Bunya Mountains Lodge require $500).  This is held for 5 working days by NAB bank (at no cost to you except you cannot use that money).  Provided the house is left tidy (as per our terms and conditions), NAB bank will authorise your bank to release this money back on your card. 

12.  What if our group arrives at different times?

If you are staying in the locked gate estates (Bunya Mountains Titles and Bunya Mountain Rainforest Estate) your guests will need a key to open the lock on the gate.  Please leave a $10 deposit at the office for a gate key.  Your $10 will be refunded when you return the key.

13.  Can I get mobile or internet reception?

Mobile & Intenet reception is very patchy.   Best reception is in sight of the mobile tower on top of Mt Mowbullan or at Fishers Lookout.  Depends on your service provider and the phone itself. For wireless connection, please bring your own pre-paid 'connection stick'.

14.  Hiring of cots or high chairs?

Sorry we do not supply or hire cots & high chairs

15.  How far in advance can we book?

We take bookings 12 months in advance.  Book at 9am on 1st November every year for 2 years in advance.

16.  What should I put into my GPS?

GPS or equivalent do not work to help you find Bunya Mountains.  Please check the map on our web site.
