Where are the Bunya Mountains?
The Bunya Mountains are accessed by car as you enjoy a scenic drive through rural and regional districts experiencing wonderful views during a relaxing country drive.

From Brisbane:
Northern / Eastside Residents:
Drive to Caboolture and take D'Aguilar Highway to Yarraman. See further directions below.


Westside / Southern Residents:
Drive towards Ipswich and take Toowoomba turn off. Through Toowoomba follow Oakey signs and continue on Warrego Highway. See further directions below.

By road the Bunya Mountains are situated:
45 minutes drive (60km) from Kingaroy, Dalby & Nanango
90 minutes (110km) from Toowoomba
2 hours from Caboolture
2½ - 3 hours (240km) from Brisbane, (220km) from Sunshine Coasts
3½ hours (320km) from Gold Coast & (300km) from Hervey Bay

From Toowoomba:
Drive 44kms to Jondaryan and take the Bunya Mountains turn-off to right. Travel a further 65kms through Quinalow & Maclagan following signs to Bunya Mountains. Turn left at Maclagan towards Bunya Mountains / Dandabah. A small section of road on this route is unsealed.

 

From Kingaroy:
Take the road to Kumbia and the Bunya Mountains / Dandabah. The journey is 56kms via this route.

From Yarraman:
Take the Toowoomba turn-off. Drive 21kms; take Maidenwell/ Bunya Mountains turn. Travel through Maidenwell to Bunya Mountains / Dandabah. 5kms of unsealed section on this route.

From Dalby:
Travel 25kms to Kaimkillenbun and then 30kms to Bunya Mountains / Dandabah via Yamison.

There is no petrol outlet on Bunya Mountains.
Nearest service station: 30km. No public transport service to Bunya Mountains.

Bunya Mountains Accommodation Office:
At the top of the range pass TV towers on your right. Proceed, observing slow signs for wallabies crossing, take right turn into Bunya Avenue Dandabah. Drive downhill past houses and 2 security gates to estates on your right. Turn right into next driveway (see sign) and our Office site is just to your right. See Accommodation Map.
